At its annual meeting which has just concluded, the United Nations Pension Board has endorsed a new policy recognizing all unions according to the law of the country where the union took place, not the staff member's country of nationality.

ILO is now the last remaining big UN organization to now recognize all same-sex unions. The process was long and arduous, but we are glad that it’s finally official. A big thanks to our colleagues in the ILO Staff Union who worked closely with UN-GLOBE to get this passed.
